Step one: Blend the softened cream cheese and sour cream. You can use a mixer or a spatula to mix. I find a mixer helps to really combine the ingredients into a delicious creamy texture.

Step two: Stir in diced dried beef, chopped dill pickles, and fresh dill.

Bowl with cream cheese, dried beer, and chopped dill pickles.

Step three: You can serve immediately or cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors come together.

Tips for success

  • Make sure to let your cream cheese soften before making the dip. This helps for a creamy dip without lumps.
  • I would recommend making this a few hours before serving to let the flavors come together. You can then take it out of the refrigerator 30 minutes before the party to let the cream cheese soften for easier scooping.

Variations

Don’t like dried beef? Make it dill pickle dip with ham by substituting the beef with chopped deli ham or deli turkey.

Try adding some shredded cheddar cheese for added color and flavor.

Make it a fried dill pickle dip by topping the dip with a combination of 1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs and 1 tablespoon of melted butter.
