Breakfast drinks are an underrated beverage category. When deciding what to drink in the morning, we usually go for coffee, tea, or water. But there are a wide variety of options to wet your whistle and get you going for the day.

Smoothie, hot chocolate, frappuccino, and mimosa.

A quality breakfast drink can also double as a nutritious breakfast. That’s a win-win. Not everyone has time to eat a full, well-rounded breakfast. Having a delicious, drinkable breakfast solves that problem.

While coffee, in all its glorious forms, is the number one drink of choice in the AM, this list of the best breakfast drinks will expand your horizons and pleasantly surprise you.

We have included coffee, of course, however, read on to discover the plethora of other choices for your morning bevy. Morning may become your new favorite time of day with this beguiling list of the best breakfast drinks.

    Tall glass of ice coffee.

    1. Iced Coffee

Our morning cup of joe is definitely at the top of the list when it comes to the best breakfast drinks. When the weather warms up, I love to make this easy iced coffee at home.

Pro-tip, brew a large pot of coffee and put it in the fridge to cool. That way, when you pour over ice, it won’t melt immediately. Add your favorite creamer and a little sugar if you like, then enjoy.

Cup of coffee with a chocolate bar.

    2. Cafe Mocha

Skip the coffee shop and make your favorite mocha at home with this simple recipe. Mocha’s feel like such a treat to me and are one of my favorite breakfast drinks.

The chocolate blended with the coffee and cream is a decadent treat. A cafe mocha is especially good with your favorite pastry.

    Mug filled with a latte.

    3. Chai Tea Latte

Tea is a beloved breakfast drink and has been enjoyed in the mornings for millennia. Chai tea lattes have gained notoriety in the last few decades thanks to Starbucks.

Two glasses of pink milk with strawberries.

    4. Strawberry Milk

It comes together in just 15 minutes and is a flavorful, refreshing breakfast drink. This is one of those morning beverages the kids can’t get enough of.

    Glass filled with orange juice.

    5. Non-Alcoholic Mimosa

No, a non-alcoholic mimosa isn’t just orange juice. It is a fun, delicious breakfast drink that is easy to make and perfect for anyone who wants to partake without alcohol.

Combine orange juice, pineapple juice, and sprite or sparkling water to create the fizz. This combination is a lovely alternative to the alcoholic version.

    7. Caramel Frappuccino

Some breakfast drinks feel more like dessert than a beverage, and I’m ok with that. If you like caramel, then you will love a caramel frappuccino. This easy at-home recipe comes together in 5 minutes and is just as good as the local coffee shop.

A chilled, blended coffee drink with caramel, milk, sugar, and coffee topped with whipped cream is a decadent, delicious morning treat.

Berry smoothie in glass with cut up strawberries.

    8. Fruit And Yogurt Smoothie

A great way to get your nutrients during a busy morning is with a healthy smoothie. Smoothies are a wonderful way to have a nutritious breakfast drink on the run.

This recipe is perfect for meal prepping by creating smoothie packs ready to go straight from the freezer. With frozen fruit, spinach, banana, yogurt, and apple juice, your on-the-go healthy smoothie is ready.

    9. Matcha Latte

    10. Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Not all healthy smoothies taste as good as this one. This easy recipe is full of protein and nutrients but tastes like a creamy milkshake even though it is dairy free.

Bananas and peanut butter are an irresistible combination. Blended into a healthy smoothie with ground flaxseed, chia seeds, almond milk, and protein powder creates a mouthwatering, delightful breakfast drink.

    11. Dalgona Coffee

Expand your coffee-drinking horizons with a dalgona whipped coffee. This isn’t your average cup of joe. It is a beautiful blend of coffee, milk, water, and sugar whipped to creamy perfection.

Top it with chocolate shavings and whipped cream to round out this inviting morning beverage.

Something magical happens when the citrusy bergamot and touch of lavender in the earl grey tea mix with the frothy milk and vanilla. It truly is a divine experience to enjoy this breakfast drink.

This isn’t your average cappuccino. The homemade cinnamon syrup is next level for this DIY coffee drink. Cinnamon is a natural antioxidant so it is a healthy addition to your coffee. Mix espresso with frothed milk and cinnamon syrup for this inviting breakfast drink.

    17. Mango Spinach Smoothie

Healthy green smoothies are the champions of breakfast drinks. Smoothies double as breakfast and are packed full of nutrients. This spinach smoothie is no different. The mango adds sweetness, so there is no added sugar. It is a refreshing, healthy smoothie that will get your motor running.

    18. Orange Juice

A best breakfast drinks list would be remiss not to include orange juice. The tart, fresh flavors of fresh squeezed orange juice is unparalleled to their store-bought counterparts.

Oranges are bursting with vitamin-c, supporting your immune system. Enjoying a glass of this refreshing fruit juice will brighten your morning and get you ready for the day.

    Three glasses of pink mimosas.

This mimosa recipe adds a little zing to the traditional recipe by adding pineapple juice and grenadine. It’s a must-try.

    20. Bloody Mary

Another favorite alcoholic breakfast drink is the incomparable bloody mary. Some call it a hangover cure, while others consider it a spiked nutritional breakfast.

Whatever you call it, it is a glass full of goodness. This recipe creates a bloody mary mix full of zing with zesty ingredients. Serve over ice cubes and garnish how you like and consider it a meal or the best breakfast drink ever.

Glass with coffee and whipped cream.

    21. Rumchata Coffee

Sometimes a morning cocktail is in order. Coffee rumchata is a scrumptious blend of coffee, rumchata (creamy Caribbean rum), cinnamon, and whipped cream.

Of course, you can skip the whipped cream and cinnamon and go straight for the spiked coffee. Either way, in the realm of the best breakfast drinks, this one will have you feeling those island vibes.

    22. Irish Coffee

This one is for whiskey and coffee lovers. It is a beautiful blend of both worlds in a decadent breakfast drink. This recipe infuses coffee with Irish whiskey,

Baileys Irish cream, and brown sugar, then tops it off with homemade Baileys Irish cream whipped cream. To say it is a heavenly coffee cocktail would be an understatement.

    23. Hot Apple Cider

During the colder months, a warm beverage in the morning is essential. Hot apple cider is a lovely alternative to coffee and gets you into the holiday spirit during the fall months. This one is great for the kiddos too. Hot apple cider and caramel blend together and are topped with whipped cream. It is a tasty treat worthy of any cold morning.
