Frappuccino in a glass with whipped cream and caramel

Occasionally we will go out on the weekend and treat ourselves to a “fancy” coffee, but honestly, it prefer staying at home in my cozy pajamas and whipping up my own homemade caramel frappuccino.

Drinks like this creamy frappuccino, caramel lattes, Starbucks strawberry frappuccino, and cinnamon roll lattes, can be made right in your own kitchen with just a few ingredients and the best part is you don’t have to leave your house.

Do caramel frappuccinos have coffee in them?

Starbucks caramel frappuccinos do have coffee as the base ingredient. Making them at home, you can use caffeinated, decaffeinated, or even chilled espresso.

What is the difference between a frappuccino and an iced coffee or iced latte?

The term frappuccino is a trademarked name from Starbucks for their blended iced coffee drinks. They are typically blended with crushed ice.

Ingredients

  • Coffee – This drink has a base of strong coffee or you could substitute with espresso.
  • Milk – Use whatever you have on hand. I like using whole milk for a richer flavor. You can also substitute with a dairy free alternative.
  • Ice – This recipe calls for 3-4 cups of ice for 2 servings.
  • Caramel syrup – This gives that nice caramel flavor to the drink.
  • Sugar – Adds a little extra sweetness. You can leave out the sugar or add another teaspoon depending on how sweet you like your drink.
  • Whipped cream – Top the frappuccino with whipped cream and an extra drizzle of caramel syrup.

Storage

You can freeze the leftovers but I will way it’s usually better to enjoy the drink immediately after making.

Keep any leftovers in a jar with a lid in the freezer and when ready to drink, place the jar in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

  1. Use Starbucks Caramel coffee, freeze in the bullet size ice trays, use it instead of ice. Have also used a little of the coffee made strong in it also. And for the crunch get the Pepperidge Farms Caramel Crunch cookies and crush them up and sprinkle on top.

So good! For even more caramel flavor, I made it with Caramel Me Crazy Dunkin’ Donuts coffee K-cups. I didn’t add the caramel syrup to the sides to my cup, but I did top it off with caramel macchiato cold foam creamer with a drizzle of syrup on the foam. 😋 Delicious!!!!

      1. You can typically find it by the ice cream toppings or by the chocolate syrup in the grocery store.
