How to make ground beef seasonings
This seasoning recipe makes enough for one pound of ground beef.
Step one: Place all of the seasonings into a bowl. Stir to combine them.
Step two: Place ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Break up the beef while cooking.
Step three: Once the ground beef has cooked through, I like to drain off any excess grease. Pour the seasoning mix on the beef and stir to fully combine.
Step four: Serve while warm or let cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Recipe tips
- You don’t have to drain the grease. If you prefer your ground beef to have a little extra moisture, you can leave the grease or add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- If you do drain off the grease, make sure to add the seasonings after you drain the grease.
- Try doubling the recipe to have some for later.
- If you like your seasonings a little spicer, add a pinch of red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, or chili powder.
How to use seasoned ground beef
There are countless ways to use this seasoned beef.
- Use it to add protein to a salad.
- Place it on top of crispy tater tots to make totchos, or chips for nachos.
- Mix it in with your favorite marinara sauce for spaghetti.
- Use the seasoned beef for sloppy joes or tacos.
Storing
Seasonings – I like to double or even triple this recipe so I have it on hand. Store any leftovers in a jar or airtight container in a cool dry place. The seasoning should last for up to 6 months.
Seasoned Beef – If you have any leftover beef, let it cool and then store in an airtight container for 3-4 days. I like making a batch of the ground beef and keep it on hand for fast meals through the week.
