Buffalo and ranch is a taste pairing that’s always a winner. We love using buffalo sauce for things like buffalo chicken pasta and buffalo chicken wraps and we use ranch on just about everything. The combination of both together tastes like an amazing creamy, tangy, slightly spicy sauce.

Ingredients needed

Sour Cream – This helps lighten up the dressing. Use full or low fat sour cream. You can also substitute with Greek yogurt.

Mayonnaise – You can use your favorite mayonnaise for this recipe.

Ranch seasoning – This can be found as a premade mix in the salad dressing aisle or make you can easily make own spice blend.

Milk – You can use milk or buttermilk.

Buffalo wing sauce – Use your favorite bottled buffalo wing sauce or this easy homemade version. For this recipe I used Frank’s buffalo wing sauce.

How to make buffalo ranch

This one step, five ingredient recipe couldn’t be easier to make.

Step one – Place sour cream, mayonnaise, milk, ranch seasoning, and wing sauce in a bowl. Stir until completely combined. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Bowl of mayo, sour cream and buffalo sauce.

How to store

This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for about a week. Store it in a jar or airtight container.

How to serve buffalo ranch

This recipe can be used as a dip, spread or a dressing. It will add zip and spice to just about anything. Here are a few suggestions for serving:

Dip – This adds so much flavor to things like vegetables, chicken strips, chicken wings, even pizza, onion rings and French fries.

Spread – Spread it on a chicken sandwich or hamburger bun to add a little spiciness to your sandwich.

Dressing – This makes a delicious salad dressing. Add a little extra milk to thin it out which makes it easier to pour over a veggie filled salad.

Recipe tips

  • Stir with a whisk or spatula to help get any lumps out.
  • I recommend letting the sauce sit for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors come together.
  • If you would like this to be a thinner salad dressing, add a little extra milk.
  • Want to make this recipe even easier? Simply mix together 1/2 cup of bottled ranch dressing with 1/4 cup buffalo wing sauce.
  • If you would like the sauce less spicy, reduce buffalo sauce to 2 tablespoons.
