This apple pie shot recipe tastes just like a piece of apple pie. It’s a delicious fireball cocktail that’s great for fall or anytime of the year.

Cocktail shots are easy to make and typically require just a few ingredients like this lemon drop, cinnamon toast crunch, and vegas bomb shot. They are fun for parties and gatherings and can be easily customized.

If you enjoy Fall and all of the Fall flavors then this shot is for you. Warm cinnamon and cider flavors come together to make this a delicious shot.

Ingredients

Vanilla vodka – Use your favorite vanilla vodka. You can also substitute with regular vodka or apple vodka.

Cinnamon whiskey – Cinnamon whiskey, like Fireball whiskey, adds a warm, cinnamon flavor. If you don’t like whiskey, substitute with cinnamon schnapps. If you don’t like cinnamon, try substituting with Crown Apple or Everclear.

Apple cider – Chilled apple cider or apple juice gives that delicious apple flavor to the drink. I like using cider because it’s infused with warm spices but apple juice also works well.

Apple pie spice – This is optional but adds a nice spice to the shot. Use pre-packaged or this easy homemade apple pie spice. You can substitute with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Whipped cream – This is also optional but adds a nice creaminess to top off the drink.

How to make apple pie shots

  1. Start by filling a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Pour apple cider, vanilla vodka, and Fireball into the cocktail shaker.
  3. Shake for 15-20 seconds to get it cold.
  4. Pour the drink into shot glass and top with whipped cream and sprinkle with apple pie spice.

Recipe tips and variations

  • If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, you can use a mason jar filled with ice. You can also use most anything with a lid.
  • Try garnishing with a cinnamon stick for an extra fancy shot.
  • Make this a caramel apple pie shot by adding a drizzle of caramel sauce.
  • Feel free to omit the whipped cream and rim the shot glass with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
  • You can serve these as hot apple pie shots by warming the cider, stirring in the vodka and whiskey and then pouring into shot glass. Just be careful not to make it too hot so that you don’t burn your tongue.

Can this shot be made into a larger cocktail?

You can make this into a larger apple pie drink by increasing the quantities of the ingredients. I like to add about 1/2 cup of apple cider to a short glass full of ice and then stir in 1 ounce of Fireball and 1 ounce of vodka. You can increase the quantities if you prefer a stronger cocktail.
