Get ready to be obsessed with this baked bacon dip! Warm, cheesy dip loaded with bacon, this is one of my go-to dips for a game day party.
I love a good dip, especially a warm, cream cheese based one like this easy bacon dip. When making this recipe, I decided to take my popular crack dip recipe and change it up just a little to amp up the bacon and adjust the seasonings.
The result, a dip that’s even more irresistible. You can’t go wrong with crispy bacon and creamy cheese.
Once your family and friends have a taste of this dip, they are sure to be asking for the recipe.

Why you will love this dip

- You can make ahead. You can easily prepare this dip up to a day before serving.
- Simple ingredients. This recipes uses ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.
Bacon and cheese dip ingredients
This uses just a few ingredients.
- Bacon – This is the star of the show so be sure to use a good quality bacon. You can also substitute with turkey bacon.
- Cream cheese – This is the base of the dip. I like using full fat cream cheese for the best taste and creaminess.
- Cheese – Shredded cheddar cheese works great for this dip. I recommend shredding your own cheese if possible.
- Sour cream – Sour cream adds another layer of creaminess and a hint of tang.
- Garlic powder – Adds delicious seasoning and flavor.
- Green onion – Diced green onion adds color and flavor.

Heather’s recipe tips
- Soften the cream cheese. This is probably the most important tip. Softening the cream cheese helps everything to be smooth and no lumps.
- Don’t use pre-shredded cheese. Shredded a block of cheese will give you the best taste and the cheese will melt better. If you are in a pinch you can use pre-shredded cheese but I recommend trying to shred your own.
- Use real bacon. For the best flavor, I don’t recommend using prepackaged bacon bits.
- Double the recipe. If you are serving this dip to a larger crowd, you can easily double the recipe.
Storing instructions
Store: Keep any leftovers covered in the refrigerator. Make sure to let the dip cool before covering or putting in an airtight container.
Reheat: You can reheat this dip in the oven or in the microwave.
Freeze: I don’t recommend freezing this dip. It does not thaw well.
How to serve
There are many dippers you can serve with this dip like crackers, crostini, potato chips, tortilla chips, even vegetables.
