Bake refrigerated cookie dough in the air fryer for a quick and delicious treat. These cookies cook up soft and tasty in under 10 minutes with no preheating required.

The air fryer can be used for so many things like cooking meatballs, reheating pizza, and even baking cookies!

Why bake cookies in the air fryer?

This is great cooking method if you don’t want to make a big batch of cookies. That’s why I love using the premade refrigerated cookie dough because you can just bake a few at a time for a quick dessert.

It’s also a quick way to bake a warm batch of cookies. It takes around 5 minutes to cook them in the air fryer compared to about 10 minutes plus preheating time for the oven.

No preheating the oven. When it’s hot outside and you don’t want to turn on the oven, the air fryer is a great way to cook without heating up the house.

Even my younger kids can make these cookies. My 8 year old loves to help put the dough in the basket and press the buttons to start the machine.

What you need

Cookie dough – I used the Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies but you can also use premade sugar cookie dough or oatmeal cookie dough.

Parchment paper – I like placing parchment paper in the air fryer basket to help hold the cookies. You can use this special air fryer parchment or just a regular piece. (I also recommend checking your manual to make sure it’s ok to use parchment.)

Air fryer – I have been using a Cosori 5.8 quart for over a year. I can fit about 5-6 cookies at one time in the size basket.

  1. Place a piece of parchment in the air fryer basket. Place 3-4 precut cookie dough or small ball of cookie dough on top of the parchment.
  2. Cook at 350 degrees for 5-6 minutes. I recommend checking on the cookies at the 5 minute mark and add 1-2 minutes if needed.
  3. Once finished cooking, remove the basket from the air fryer but let the cookies sit in the basket for about 5 minutes. This will allow the cookies to stiffen up so they don’t fall apart.

How to store

Keep any unused dough wrapped up in the refrigerator. Store any leftover baked cookies in an airtight container at room temperature. They will stay good for about a week but I doubt they will last that long.

Tips

  • If you are using the cookie dough that is packaged in a roll, use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon to form dough balls.
  • Do you have to use parchment paper? If you don’t have any, lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil and place the dough directly in the basket.
  • If you want to bake the whole package, bake in batches of 4-5 depending on the size of your basket. You want to make sure to allow for room so the cookies can spread out.
  • Don’t worry if they seem soft right after baking. Once they sit, they will stiffen up.
  • If your cookies are getting way too brown, set the temperature to 300 degrees F and cook for 5-7 minutes.

Might want to mention that if your air fryer has a preheat cycle, you shouldn’t put the parchment paper in until after the preheat – it catches on fire. 😉

    1. I’m not sure why the would not be cooked. It might be the type of cookie dough. You can add 3-4 more minutes of cook time.

I love using pre-made goodies (cookies and rolls) in my Cosori Air Fryer.
The “hack” I use instead of parchment paper is I have a round, aluminum “to-go” pan from Italian take-out that is about an inch smaller than my Air Fryer basket and I cut a large piece of the lip off of the pan. The remaining lip is stiff enough so the pan is easy to lift out of a hot Air Fryer basket using tongs or using silicone mitts. I use this pan when I’m cooking anything light weight, like bakery items, instead of using parchment paper.
The goodies stay in the pan for 10 minutes, then the no-lip part of the pan lets me easily scoop out the almost-cooled cookies with a spatula. Using this pan also solves my problem of the parchment paper getting blown around when cookies aren’t heavy enough to hold down the paper.

  3. Please change the word cook. Air fryers have multiple settings did you set it to bake it or set it too air fry?
