Serving suggestions

The classic dipper for this banana dessert would be Nilla wafers. I also like using shortbread cookies, ginger snaps, animal crackers, pretzels, and fruit.

How do you keep bananas from turning brown?

You can keep bananas from turning brown by tossing them with a little lemon juice before adding them to the dip. If you plan on eating the dip the same day, you don’t need add the lemon juice.

Heather’s recipe tips

  • Soften the cream cheese. This helps to prevent the dip from being lumpy. I typically will leave mine out on the counter for at least an hour before making.
  • Beat the cream cheese until creamy. Make sure to use an electric mixer to beat the cream cheese until it’s light and fluff.
  • Adjust the banana. If you don’t like banana, you can leave it off. If you want more bananas, you can dice them and fold them into the dip.

Storage

Store: Keep any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. After that the bananas will become mushy.

Freezing: I don’t recommend freezing this dip. It does not hold up well.

Banana Pudding Dip

This easy, creamy banana pudding dip is a delicious no-bake dessert.
Prep: 10 minutes
Total: 10 minutes
Servings: 12

Ingredients

  • 1 (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 (8 oz) frozen whipped topping
  • 1 banana, diced
  • 1/4 cup crushed Nilla wafers

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together pudding mix and milk.
  • Using electric mixer, beat together powdered sugar, vanilla and cream cheese until creamy. (About 3 minutes)
  • Slowly pour in pudding mixture and mix. Mix until creamy.
  • Fold in whipped topping until combined.
  • Serve with chopped banana and crushed Nilla wafers on top.

Notes

  • Make sure your cream cheese is softened. This helps prevent lumpy dip. I typically will leave mine out on the counter for at least an hour but if you are in a hurry you can unwrap it and place on a microwave safe plate. Microwave for about 20 seconds to soften.
  • If you would prefer more banana in this dip, gently fold in 1/2-1 cup diced bananas into the dip itself.

YUM! What a delicious and easy dessert. Sorry to say I didn’t use it as a dip – we put it into small dishes and ate it with a spoon. It was that good!
