Banana Pudding Dip is a creamy, delicious dessert perfect for a crowd. Whipped pudding mixture topped with diced bananas and crushed cookies.
This quick banana pudding dip is a favorite banana recipe around here along with Fried Bananas and Cinnamon Sugar Banana Donut Holes. It’s a dippable variation of classic Banana Pudding.
This fluffy, creamy no-bake dessert dip is something I make for holiday gatherings or summer BBQ’s.
Ingredients needed
Instant Vanilla Pudding, Milk, Cool-Whip, Cream Cheese, Vanilla Extract.

Just a few simple ingredients are needed to make this crowd pleasing dip.
- Whisk: Begin with whisking together instant vanilla pudding mix with cold milk in a small bowl. Whisk until fully combined. I use 2% milk for my dip, you could also use whole milk or even half and half for a richer flavor.
- Mix: Using an electric mixer, cream together cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy, about 3 minutes.
- Slowly add in pudding mixture and mix until creamy.
- Fold: Fold in whipped topping to the mixture until combined.
- Cool: Refrigerate until ready to serve.
What to serve with banana pudding dip with cream cheese
The classic dipper for this banana dessert would be Nilla wafers. I also love using shortbread cookies, ginger snaps, and fruit.
How do you keep bananas from turning brown?
For this recipe I add the chopped bananas at the end for a garnish so I typically don’t worry about them turning brown.
If you think you will have leftovers, you can toss the bananas in a tablespoon of lemon juice before adding them to help prevent browning.
Recipe tips
- Make sure your cream cheese is softened. This helps prevent lumpy dip. I typically will leave mine out on the counter for at least an hour but if you are in a hurry you can unwrap it and place on a microwave safe plate. Microwave for about 20 seconds to soften.
- If you would prefer more banana in this dip, gently fold in 1/2-1 cup diced bananas into the dip itself.
- This cream cheese dip will last about 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
