Alexia brand makes a variety of frozen product like sweet potato fries, french fries, and these onion rings.

Their onion rings are crispy, and coated with panko bread crumbs and sea salt for the perfect crunch. They make a great appetizer or side dish to many things like burgers, chicken tender, sandwiches, and so much more.

Why you should use the air fryer

Fast: These frozen onion rings can be cooked in under 10 minutes which is faster than the oven. They can also be cooked straight from frozen so you don’t have to worry about thawing time.

Even cooking: Air fryers cook by hot air circulating around the food. This helps for even cooking and a delicious, crispy texture.

Easy: No need to preheat the air fryer and no need for any extra oil. These can go straight in the air fryer basket and be cooked. This also helps for easy clean-up.

Healthier: Air fryer is considered a healthier alternative to deep frying since they aren’t cooked in any extra oil.

Ingredients needed

Only 1 ingredient needed to make this dish. Can’t get much easier!

  • Alexia onion rings – You can use Alexia onion rings but it will also work for other frozen onion rings.
  • Air fryer – Each air fryer cooks a little different. I am using a Cosori 5.8 quart machine. Depending on the size of your machine, you might need to cook in several batches.

Dipping sauces for onion rings

Onion rings are great on their own but also wonderful with your favorite dipping sauce. Here are a few we love:

Recipe tips

  • There is no need to spray your air fryer basket with cooking spray. The onion rings have been precooked in oil so they shouldn’t stick. Non-stick cooking spray can also damage your air fryer basket.
  • I recommend placing the onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. This helps them cook evenly and not stick together.
  • I like to shake the basket half way through cooking or even flip the onions rings over.
  • If you are cooking the whole bag, you will need to cook in two batches.
  • Want super crispy onion rings? Half way through cooking, spray them with a mist of cooking oil.
  • Each air fryer tends to cook a little differently. You can check on the onion rings after 5 minutes of cooking to see if you need to adjust the cooking time.

Store leftovers

Store: If you have any leftover air fryer onion rings, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.

Reheat: The onion rings can be reheated in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 2-3 minutes or until heated through.
