Heather’s recipe tips

  • Soften the cheese. Make sure to let the Boursin and cream cheese sit out at room temperature for about 15 minutes to soften. This helps to create a creamy texture.
  • Warm the jam. I like to microwave the fig jam for about 20 seconds so that it’s easier to spread.
  • Chop the bacon. I recommend chopping the bacon before cooking so that it cooks faster.

How to serve

I like serving this dip at room temperature. You could also serve it warm by simply baking it at 350 degrees F for 10-15 minutes.

A few of my favorite dippers include:

  • Club crackers
  • Ritz crackers
  • Mini toast

Variations

This is a pretty straight forward dish but you can easily make it your own with a few ingredient changes.

  • Nuts – You can substitute the pecans with chopped pistachios, almonds, or walnuts. If you have a nut allergy, you can leave them off.
  • Boursin – I am using the Garlic and Herb but you can substitute with a different flavor.
  • Onion – You can add diced green onion or chives for added color.

Storage instructions

Store: Cover the serving dish or transfer to an airtight container. Keep in the refrigerator until ready to eat. This will last about 4 days.

  1. This may be a crazy question but do you think it would still be good without the bacon? I have a few vegetarians in the family so I’d like for them to be able to eat it, too.

    Thank you 😊
