My grandma’s strawberry delight pudding dessert is similar to banana pudding but with strawberries. Layers of Nilla wafers, a creamy pudding mixture, and topped with strawberry glaze and fresh strawberries, this is a great dessert for any occasion.

When I was growing up my grandma would make this strawberry delight with Nilla wafers for me and my sister when we would visit during the summer. As I got older and started to cook with her in the kitchen, she shared that she had found the recipe from one of her church cookbooks.

Recipes like this remind me that some of the best desserts are the simplest ones. This treat is always something we look forward to because its cool, creamy, and perfect for a warm summer day.

This no bake strawberry dessert is surprisingly easy to make with just a few, simple ingredients needed. A great option when you need something for a potluck or party because it can be made the night before and kept in the refrigerator until ready to eat.

  • If you don’t have Cool Whip, you can use homemade whipped cream.
  • Refrigerate for an hour before serving. This will let everything come together.

Variations

  • Pudding: You can substitute the vanailla pudding with cheesecake flavored pudding mix, strawberry pudding mix, or french vanilla pudding mix. It’s even great with lemon pudding mix.
