Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Asparagus is an easy side or appetizer that can be made in less than 20 minutes. Tender crisp asparagus wrapped in bacon glazed with butter and brown sugar. Sweet and salty at it’s finest!

Bacon wrapped asparagus is the best way to eat asparagus in my humble opinion. Bacon makes everything better right? And the air fryer makes this recipe super easy. Everything comes out perfectly crisp like these air fryer potatoes and air fryer broccoli

Ingredients you will need:

You only need asparagus, bacon, butter and brown sugar! That’s it, except a little s&p for seasoning.

How to choose the best asparagus:

Size doesn’t matter when it comes to choosing the perfect asparagus. I do prefer mine on the thinner side. I think it makes them easier to eat and cook.

Check for bright green stalks that are firm. The tips of the asparagus should also be firm and dark green.

How to Make Bacon Wrapped Asparagus in the Air Fryer

  • Begin by snapping or cutting the ends off of the asparagus. I just hold the stalks close to the base and then bend until it snaps. You can also just cut off the ends with a knife.

  • Take 3-4 stalks of asparagus and wrap with one piece of bacon.
  • Stir together melted butter, brown sugar, salt and pepper.
  • Brush the mixture over each bundle and place in the air fryer basket.

Why this recipe works:

  • It’s easy peasy!
  • Can be made in under 20 minutes.
  • It looks fancy but is super simple to make.

Tips

  • Use center cut or thin sliced bacon. Thicker bacon will not crisp up as nice.
  • Don’t over crowd the air fryer. I usually cook 4-5 bundles in at a time.
  • Like a little spice, add a small sprinkle of cayenne pepper into the melted butter mixture.
