Instant family favorite

Need a simple, cost conscious snack to feed a crowd or maybe something flavorful to go with a big bowl of soup? These seasoned crackers are the perfect thing!

We typically have a packet of Ranch seasoning in the house for recipes like Mississippi Chicken or Loaded Ranch Mashed Potatoes. You can also easily make your own seasoning.

How to make

Baking is the key to keeping the crackers crisp and not too soggy.

  • Start off by preheating the oven to 250 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil. I also like to use a wire rack on top of the backing sheet but it’s not necessary.
  • Place a cup of butter and seasoning in a large skillet. Melt the butter over medium heat.

  • Whisk the butter to evenly distribute the spices.

Recipe tips

  • Don’t over heat the butter. You don’t want to burn the butter mixture.
  • Be sure not to let the crackers sit in the butter mixture too long or they will get soggy and fall apart.
  • Store any leftover in an airtight container for up to a week.

FAQ’s

Can you use different crackers?

Yes! You can use oyster crackers or butter crackers. If making ranch oyster crackers, prepare the same way. Coat them in butter mixture and then bake.

Can you use oil instead of butter?

Yep! I have made this recipe with vegetable oil. I prefer the extra flavor the butter gives the crackers

How to make them spicy ranch crackers?

Add a pinch or red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the butter mixture for a little heat and to make them spicy ranch crackers.

Can you make your own Ranch seasoning?

Of course! Here is a great recipe I use from Together As Family.

Can you make these party crackers ahead of time?

Yes! Just make as directed and store in airtight container.

Variations

I know the recipe says Ranch but you can try different spices to change things up.

Try making the Fiesta Ranch Crackers by using the Fiesta Ranch mix or try Italian spice blend, Mexican spice blend or my new favorite Everything Bagel spice blend.
