My apple pie snack mix is a sweet and salty treat full of warm fall flavor. A crunchy combination of cereal, chips, and candy coated in a buttery brown sugar and apple pie spiced mixture. An easy fall snack mix perfect for fall parties, game days, Halloween, or just a movie night at home.

Fall is my favorite time of year and this apple pie snack mix is like fall in a bowl. Cinnamon cereal, salty chips, apple chips, all coated in an apple pie spice glaze. Every handful has the best combination of salty, sweet, cozy fall flavor.

Snack mixes are so fun to make because they are perfect for sharing and easy to customize. This one is great to make any time of year but I especially love to make it when the air starts to cool and the kids go back to school.

Everything you will need to make apple pie snack mix.

  • Apple Cinnamon Cheerios: This cereal gives this snack mix great apple and cinnamon flavor.
  • Apple Jacks Cereal: I like using Apple Jacks for the flavor but also the fun color.
  • Pretzels: Pretzels add a salty crunch to the mix.
  • Bugles: Bugles are one of my favorite chips to add to balance out the sweetness and also the crunch.
  • Apple chips: Adds some real apple flavor to the snack mix.
  • Butter: Unsalted butter is used to make the coating.
  • Apple pie spice: Apple pie spice gives this snack mix it’s signature warm, cozy flavor. Use premade spice mix or my homemade apple pie spice.
  • Brown sugar: This is combined with the butter and spices to make the delicious coating.
  • Candy: Add your favorite candy. I like using either caramel apple candy corn or mellowcreme apples.

How To Make Apple Pie Snack Mix

  1. Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Place the Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, Apple Jacks, pretzels, Bugles, and apple chips in a large bowl.

  1. Mix together melted butter, brown sugar, and apple pie spice.
  2. Pour the melted butter over the cereal mixture. Stir the mixture until coated with the butter.

  1. Bake for 45 minutes stirring every 15 minutes.
  2. Let the snack mix cool completely and then mix in the candy of your choice.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

  • Use a large bowl to combine all of your ingredients.
  • Stir the mixture every 15 minutes. This helps to cook the mix evenly.
  • Add the candy after baking. Let the mixture slightly cool before adding in the candy so that it doesn’t melt.
  • Let the snack mix completely cool. Be sure to let the mix cool before serving.

Variations

One of my favorite things about making snack mixes is that they are really easy to customize. Here are a few suggestions on how to make it your own.

  • Candy: Try adding different candy like M&M’s, caramel M&M’s or butterscotch chips.
  • Nuts: For even more crunch, mix in pecans, peanuts, or almonds.
  • Cereal: Substitute one of the cereals with Cinnamon Chex or Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
  • Popcorn: Mix in some popcorn to the mixture.
  • Sprinkles: Add in some colorful sprinkles.

Storage Instructions

Store any leftover apple pie snack mix in an airtight container at room temperature. This does not need to be refrigerated. This apple snack mix will last for up to 5 days.

Apple Pie Snack Mix

Apple pie snack mix is a sweet and salty fall treat with cereal, chips, and warm apple pie spices.

Ingredients 

  • 4 cups apple cinnamon cheerios
  • 4 cups apple jack cereal
  • 1 cup pretzels
  • 1 cup Bugels
  • 1 apple chips, broken
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • mellowcreme caramel apples candies or caramel apple candy corn

Instructions 

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl mix together the Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, Apple Jacks, pretzels, Bugles, and apple chips.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and apple pie spice.
  • Pour the butter mixture over the cereal mixture. Stir to coat the cereal mixture with the butter.
  • Spread the mixture out on the two prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Let the snack mix cool before adding in the candy.
