Chocolate cinnamon crinkle cookies are a delicious take on a classic crinkle cookie. Ground cinnamon is infused in the batter and then added into the powdered sugar coating.

If you are a cookie lover be sure to try these coffee toffee cookies.

Crinkle cookies are one of our families favorite to make. The texture and the powdered sugar coating is so so good.

This version of chocolate crinkle cookies has that extra “secret” ingredient that sets them apart from the rest. The warm flavor of ground cinnamon really compliments the chocolate.

I really love making these for the holidays for gatherings and neighbor gifts. Package them in a nice tin or box for an easy, delicious holiday surprise for friends and family.

What makes these cookies so good

  • Flavor and texture – These cookies are chewy, chocolatey, and the hint of cinnamon adds a delicious layer of flavor.
  • Easy – They are easy to make and a fun recipe to get your children involved. My kids love rolling the dough balls in the powdered sugar mixture.

I am sharing this recipe today at Dixie Crystals. For full recipe click on Dixie Crystals Chocolate Cinnamon Crinkle Cookies.

  1. Mix: Start by melting the unsweetened chocolate. I do this in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stove. Mix melted chocolate, sugar and oil with an electric mixer.
  2. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract.
  3. Slowly mix in flour, baking powder and salt until combined.
  4. Chill: Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  5. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Cover them in powdered sugar and cinnamon mixture and place on a lined cookie sheet.
  6. Bake: Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes. Let cookies cool on wire rack.

Recipe tips

  • Be careful not to burn the chocolate when melting it. Start with 20 seconds in the microwave and add 5 seconds at a time until melted.
  • Don’t overmix the dough. Combine ingredients just until combined.

How to store

Store: These can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Freeze: They can be frozen for up to 3 months. Store in a freezer safe container or bag. Try keeping them in a single layer. Chocolate cookies on a plate
