Dorito dip going into creamy dip.

One of my favorite snacks, or even light meal, is chips and dip. Of course you can’t go wrong with classic chips and salsa, but this Doritos dip takes snacking to a whole new level.

It’s a delicious dip with the perfect zesty flavor and texture to go with a bag of Doritos chips. If I ever need a dip for game day, this is a recipe that I always reach for.

It’s creamy, chunky, and so satisfying. The boldness of Doritos chips really compliment the dip. But don’t worry, if you don’t have Doritos, this dip goes well with all kinds of chips, crackers, and even vegetables.

Why you’ll love this dip

  • Fun flavor. This creamy chip dip is full of fiesta flavor from the Mexicorn and seasoning.
  • Easy to make. You can make this dip in just minutes with a few ingredients.
  • Perfect make ahead dip. A great dip to make the night before because the flavors really come together.
  • Not just for Doritos. Serve this dip with a variety of chips, vegetables, or even use it as a spread to make pinwheels.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you will need to make this Doritos dip recipe.

Bag of Doritos chips, ranch seasoning, bowl of sour cream, cheese, onions, Mexicorn, and Rotel.
  • Cream cheese: Softened cream cheese makes the creamy base.
  • Sour cream: Adds a little tang and creaminess.
  • Mexicorn: Canned Mexicorn adds color and flavor with corn and bell peppers. If you can’t find Mexicorn, use regular canned corn
  • Rotel: Diced tomatoes with green chilis.
  • Green onions: Sliced green onions add great color and flavor.
  • Ranch seasoning: I like using the Hidden Valley Ranch Fiesta Ranch seasoning because it adds a little extra kick. You can substitute with original ranch seasoning.
  • Shredded cheese: Use shredded cheddar cheese, Colby and Monterey Jack, or a shredded Mexican blend cheese.

Variations

Make this Doritos chip dip your own with a few changes. Here are a few suggestions:

Spicy – Add in diced jalapenos or a dash of hot sauce for an extra kick.

Southwest flavors – Mix in lime juice, black beans, and diced avocado.

Protein – Add in some protein like shredded chicken, browned sausage, or cooked ground beef for a hearty dip.

Baked – Make this a hot dip by spreading it in a small baking dish. Top with a little extra shredded cheese and bake at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes.

Heather’s recipe tips

  • Soften the cream cheese. Leave the cream cheese out at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to soften. This helps make it easier to mix helps to prevent lumps.
  • Drain well. Make sure to drain the Mexicorn and Rotel well. This will help prevent the dip from becoming watery.
  • Great for a party. You can leave this dip out for about 2 hours at a party.

How to serve Doritos dip with cream cheese

There are many great ways to scoop up this tasty dip. A few that I recommend include:

  • Chips: Doritos like their classic nacho cheese, cool ranch, or even tortilla chips, potato chips, or corn chips.
  • Crackers: Ritz crackers, Saltines, or Cheeze-Its are great options.
  • Vegetables: Cut up vegetables like bell peppers, carrots, cucumbers, and celery.
