Ingredients
This caramel apple pretzel bites recipe with Rolos can be made with a few easy ingredients.

- Apples: I like using Granny Smith apples because they are crispy and tart. You can substitute with other crisp apples like Honey Crisp.
- Rolos: I recommend getting a bag of Rolo candy. Make sure to unwrap them before you start making the pretzels.
- Pretzels: The square pretzels tend to work best for this recipe. You can substitute with other pretzel shapes.
- Chocolate: Chocolate melt wafers tend to melt the best. You could also substitute with chocolate chips.
- Heath Bar bits: Crushed Heath Bar candy or toffee bits give this dessert an added layer of delicious, buttery sweet flavor.

Heather’s recipe tips
- Cut the apples in small pieces. Make sure to cut the apples into small pieces that will fit on the pretzel.
- Prevent the apples from browning by soaking them in Sprite or tossing them with lemon juice. Make sure to pat them dry before making the pretzels.
- Make sure to not over bake them. These only need to be in the oven for about 3 minutes. If you bake them much longer, the Rolo candy will melt.
- Work fast. Add the apple pieces fast before the chocolate starts to set.
- Drizzling the chocolate. You can use a piping bag, zip-loc bag, or just a spoon to drizzle the melted chocolate over the pretzels.
Variations and substitutions
- Topping: Replace the toffee bits with crushed peanuts for extra crunch or colorful sprinkles for some festive fun.
- Chocolate: You can use colorful candy melts or white chocolate candy melts.
- Candy: Try substituting the Rolo candy with Hershey Kisses or caramel squares.
- Pretzels: Substitute the pretzels with Ritz crackers for a buttery crunch.
Storage
Store: Keep any leftover caramel apple bites in an airtight container for about one day. They are best served the day they are made.
