If you are looking for a tasty bite for your next party or tailgate, these pineapple kielbasa bites are a must try. Packed full of flavor, they are the kind of snack that disappears faster than you can make them.

Growing up my mom made a version of these using a simple BBQ glaze. A few years ago, my friend shared her twist using teriyaki and sweet chili sauce, and let’s just say, I was hooked after the first bite. The glaze is sticky and flavorful, with just a hint of spice.

Now I make these for just about any occasion including holiday parties and backyard cookouts. Bite sized, easy to make, and super tasty.

My biggest recommendation is to double the recipe because these sausage bites always disappear fast.

Heather’s recipe tips

  • Try slicing the kielbasa evenly. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. This helps for easy clean up.
  • Drain the pineapple chunks well. You can even pat them with a paper towel before assembling. This will help prevent the glaze from becoming too watery.
  • Soak toothpicks. I recommend soaking your toothpicks in water before baking. This helps to prevent them from burning in the oven.
  • Check on them while baking. To help prevent over cooking, make sure to check the bites after 15 minutes of cooking. This will help prevent them from burning.

Variations

There are many ways to make these glazed kielbasa pineapple bites your own with a few variations.

  • Barbecue: Substitute the teriyaki and sweet chili sauce with BBQ sauce.
  • Spicy: Add a little hot sauce or red pepper flakes in the glaze. You can even add a pickled jalapeno on top of the pineapple.
  • Vegetables: Add a slice of red bell pepper or water chestnuts to the toothpick.
