Cuisine: American
Keyword: hot dog chili, hot dog chili no beans
Servings: 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup onion, diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon dry ground mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Place the oil and finely diced onions in a large pot. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  • Add in the ground beef. Break apart the beef with a spatula or spoon. Pour in the beef broth and keep breaking up the beef.
  • Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, ground mustard, garlic powder, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook the chili over medium-low for about 25-30 minutes or until the chili thickens. Make sure to stir occasionally so the chili doesn't burn.

Notes

  • Dice the onion small. Try and dice your onion finely so that it blends in with the chili.
  • Use lean ground beef. This will help cut back on the grease.
  • Serve at a party. If you have a hot dog bar or serving this at a party, keep it in a slow cooker on the warm setting.
  • Double the recipe. If you are feeding a crowd, you can easily double the recipe.
