Be the star of your tailgate with this classic, all purpose tailgate chili.
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 large onion chopped
- 4 stalks of celery chopped
- 1 6 oz can tomato paste
- 1 28 oz petite diced tomatoes
- 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 - 2 lbs ground beef or ground turkey
- 4 cups water
- 5 tablespoons chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
In a large pot, heat one tablespoon olive oil.
Add garlic, onion and celery.
Saute until tender, about 5 minutes.
Add ground beef to pot and cook until brown.
Drain off any excess fat.
Stir in water, tomato paste, sauce, diced tomatoes, chili powder and salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low.
Simmer for 1 hour.
