Tailgate Chili

Be the star of your tailgate with this classic, all purpose tailgate chili.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 4 stalks of celery chopped
  • 1 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 28 oz petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 - 2 lbs ground beef or ground turkey
  • 4 cups water
  • 5 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat one tablespoon olive oil.
  • Add garlic, onion and celery.
  • Saute until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Add ground beef to pot and cook until brown.
  • Drain off any excess fat.
  • Stir in water, tomato paste, sauce, diced tomatoes, chili powder and salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low.
  • Simmer for 1 hour.
