Ingredients

  • 1 16 ounce bag of frozen pierogies
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 2 green onions, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet, heat cream cheese over medium heat while constantly stirring. Pour in chicken broth and stir until it starts to become creamy like a sauce.
  • Once it starts to become creamy, remove the skillet from the heat and stir in sour cream, salt, pepper, 1/2 of the chopped bacon, diced green onions, and 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Place the frozen pierogies in the baking dish. Pour the cream cheese mixture over pierogies.
  • Top with remaining shredded cheese and chopped bacon. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the foil. Bake another 3-5 minutes or until cheese melts. Top with more diced green onion.

Notes

  • You don't need to thaw the pierogies before cooking.
  • Use either prepackaged shredded cheese or freshly shredded cheese. Freshly shredded tends to melt better.
