  • Instant Pot or pressure cooker


  • 2 pounds boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper


  • Pour 1 cup chicken broth or water into a 6-quart Instant Pot.
  • Place the trivet into the pot. Place chicken breasts on the trivet.
  • Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Put the lid on the Instant Pot and set it to cook on high pressure for 8 minutes. After the cook time has finished, release the pressure.
  • Open the lid and check to make sure the chicken reaches 165 degrees F internal temperature.
