Servings: 4 cups
- ¼ cup salted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups Cheerios
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
In a small bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon until combined. Set aside.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
Stir the vanilla extract in with the melted butter.
Pour the Cheerios in the skillet and then stir to coat the cereal with the melted butter. Stir for about 3-4 minutes.
Remove the skillet from the heat and then sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the Cheerios. Toss to fully coat the cereal with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Serve immediately or let the cereal cool and store in an airtight container.
- Use a large skillet. This will make it easier to stir the Cheerios and coat with the melted butter.
- Warm over medium-low heat.
- Stir frequently. Stirring the cereal will help prevent them from browning too much.
- Add the cinnamon sugar mixture while the Cheerios are warm. This will help the mixture stick to the warmed butter on the cereal.
