Ham Pasta Salad
Ham pasta salad is a delicious, easy pasta salad perfect for cookouts, potlucks, and more. Savory ham, cheese, peas, and pasta, combined with a creamy dressing.

- 16 ounce small shell pasta
- 8 ounce diced ham
- ½ cup red onion, diced
- 8 ounce colby jack cheese, cubed
- 10 ounce frozen peas, thawed
Dressing
- 1 ½ cups mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package directions.
Drain the water off of the pasta in a colander. Rinse the pasta in cold water to help stop the cooking process.
In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.
In a separate large bowl, combine the drained pasta, cubed ham, cubed cheese, red onion, and peas.
Pour the dressing over the pasta salad. Toss to fully coat with the dressing.
Cover and store in the refrigerator for about an hour to allow the flavors come together.
- Don't overcook the pasta. I recommend cooking the pasta to al dente.
- Rinse the pasta in cold water after cooking to help cool it off.
- Rinse the frozen peas under cold water to help thaw them quickly.
- Cut the ingredients into small pieces. Make sure to cut the cheese and onions into small pieces.
