Cookies
Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Cream together the butter and 1 1/2 cup sugar.
Blend in egg and vanilla extract.
Fold in dry ingredients until soft dough forms.
Refrigerate dough for at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls and then roll balls into additional sugar.
Place on parchment paper lined cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.
Press down ball with the bottom of a glass.
Bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool and then place on wire rack.
Buttercream filling
Mix together butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk for approximately 5 minutes.
Add food coloring and mix to desired color.
