Pineapple Angel Food Cake Recipe

2-ingredient pineapple angel food cake is such a simple dessert recipe. This is a great cake recipe that is perfect for a BBQ, potluck, holidays and more. A light dessert with sweet pineapple flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 16 ounce box angel food cake mix
  • 1 20 ounce can crushed pineapple with the juice
  • 1 16 ounce frozen whipped topping thawed, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven 350 degrees F.
  • Pour the angel food cake mix and can of crushed pineapple in a mixing bowl. Mix together until combined.
  • Spread the batter in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Bake for 25 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
  • Let the cake completely cool. If using thawed frozen whipped topping, spread over the cake.

Notes

  • No need to spray the cake baking dish. Pour the batter into an ungreased cake dish.
  • Don't let the batter sit long. This cake batter will start to rise so as soon as it's mixed, spread out into the cake dish and then bake.
  • Be sure not to over mix the cake batter.
  • Use a serrated knife to cut the cake.
  • Feel free to add extra toppings like shredded coconut, sprinkles, pineapple tidbits, or even maraschino cherries.
