Red Robin campfire sauce recipe is full of flavor that is perfect for dipping or spreading on some favorite foods like french fries, chicken fingers and hamburgers. Make this four ingredient sauce in about 5 minutes.

Sauces can add so much extra flavor to different foods. They are great for dipping, spreading, and even for salad dressings. It’s easier than you might think to recreate favorite restaurant copycat sauces like this Chick-Fil-A avocado lime ranch, Taco Bell cheese sauce, Burger King zesty sauce and Subway chipotle southwest sauce at home.

There are many Robin Red sauces but this Copycat Red Robin Campfire Sauce is one of our favorites to make. It has so much bold flavor and is the perfect dipping sauce. It’s creamy, slightly sweet with a little bit of smokiness from the chipotle chili powder. It can be made in a matter of minutes and is simple to customize to your taste.

Ingredients needed

BBQ sauce – Use your favorite inexpensive hickory barbeque sauce. I used Sweet Baby Rays Hickory and Brown Sugar for this recipe. Any BBQ sauce will work well, however, I do think a smokey BBQ sauce will give you that restaurant flavor.

Mayonnaise – Choose your favorite full fat mayonnaise brand, like Best Foods brand, works the best but you can substitute with low-fat or even vegan mayonnaise.

Chipotle chili powder – Chipotle chili powder is made up of only ground up dried chipotle pepper. You can find chipotle powder in the spice section of the grocery store. It gives this sauce a wonderful, smoky flavor.

If you can’t find it or don’t want to buy a whole bottle, feel free to substitute with chili powder or paprika.

Garlic powder – Adds a nice balance to the sweetness of the BBQ sauce.

Recipe tips and variations

  • If you have time, let the sauce chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour. It really helps to let the flavors blend together and really gives the sauce the best taste.
  • You can add a little extra spice by adding a splash or two of Tabasco hot sauce.
  • Feel like trying something new? Use half cup of ranch dressing and half cup mayonnaise with the rest of the ingredients to make a ranch campfire mayo.
  • To make this Keto friendly, use a low-carb BBQ sauce.

How to store

Store this sauce in the refrigerator in an airtight container. It will last for about one week.

This campfire sauce doesn’t keep well in the freezer. The mayonnaise will start to separate when it thaws causing it to have a strange texture.

How to serve

This Red Robin Campfire Sauce copycat recipe is seriously good on so many things. I could even eat it with a spoon. Here are a few suggestions on how to serve this copycat sauce:

Dip: Serve this as a dip for things like chicken tenders, chicken nuggets, onion rings, french fries, sweet potato fries, and egg rolls.

Spread: Try spreading on a bun for a hamburger, chicken sandwiches and on wraps.

Dressing: You can thin out the sauce with a splash of milk to use for a dressing on delicious salad. It’s also great drizzled over tacos and nachos.

You can buy a bottle of Red Robin Campfire sauce but believe me, the homemade version tastes much better and it’s so easy to make.

  1. True Campfire Sauce is 50/50 bbq sauce and Mayo…that’s it. Nothing more, nothing less. My oldest has worked for them for 5 years.
