Pound cake – You will need to loaves of pound cake. You can use plain or marbled pound cake.

Cream cheese – Softened cream cheese helps to make the creamy layers.

Heavy cream – Used for the cream layers.

Powdered sugar – This adds some sweetness to the cream mixture.

Coffee – A classic tiramisu ingredient.

KahluaKahlua adds sweet, coffee flavor.

Chocolate – Shaved chocolate is used to top the tiramisu.

How to make pound cake tiramisu

Step one: In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, heavy cream and powdered sugar with an electric mixer until creamy and combined. About 5 minutes.

Step two: Stir together the coffee and Kahlua.

Step three: Place half of the pound cake slices in a single layer in a 9×13 baking dish. Pour half of the coffee mixture over the cake slices.

Step four: Top with half of the cream cheese mixture and shaved chocolate.

Step five: Repeat layers and end with dusting of cocoa powder. Cover and refrigerate for 3 or more hours before serving.

How to store

Make ahead – This is a great make ahead dessert recipe. Make it the night before, cover and store in the refrigerator.

Store – Keep any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Freeze – This dessert does not freeze well. The cream layer does not thaw well.

  • 2 loaves marble pound cake
  • 2 8 oz blocks cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup strong coffee
  • 4 tablespoons Kahlua
  • 1/2 cup shaved chocolate
  • unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions 

  • In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, cream and powdered sugar until creamy and combined. About 5 minutes.
  • In a small bowl mix coffee and Kahlua.
