Supreme pizza casserole is the perfect meal for a busy family. Filled with Italian sausage, peppers, onion, pepperoni, olives, and cheese. This is a filling meal that makes great leftovers.

This supreme pizza casserole is a great meal to make when you just don’t know what to make for dinner. It’s filled with all of the classic supreme pizza topping but easily customizable.

Pasta casseroles are always a good go-to meal when you need something easy. This pizza casserole is one of our favorite meals!

  • Pasta – You can use your favorite pasta shapes. We are using a rigatoni pasta.
  • Meat – We are using pepperoni and Italian sausage.
  • Cheese – Shredded mozzarella is used for this recipe.
  • Sauce – Use a pasta or marinara sauce.
  • Other – Add your favorite supreme pizza toppings like bell peppers, onion, olices, and more. Italian seasoning is also used for a little extra flavor.

How to make Pizza Pasta Casserole

Step one: Start by preparing your ingredients. Cook the Italian sausage in a skillet until browned and cooked through. Dice bell peppers and onions. Cook the pasta according to the package directions.

Step two: Once the pasta has cooked, drain and return the pasta back to the pot. Stir in all of the ingredients.

Step three: Place in a 9 x 13 casserole dish sprayed with non-stick spray. Top with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Pizza Pasta Recipe tips

  • If you know you are going to make this meal, pre-chop the veggies and pre-cook your sausage. When you are ready to assemble, everything will be ready to mix together.
  • Salt you pasta water while cooking the pasta. It is a great way to season the pasta itself.
  • If you like your casserole super cheesy, add another 1/2 cup mozzarella to the top.

  • Veggie – If supreme isn’t your style, try a veggie version with peppers, onions, and mushrooms.
  • Hawaiian – Substitute diced ham and pineapple bits.
  • Meat lovers – Add in extra protein like ground beef and diced ham.

How to store leftovers

This casserole recipe makes wonderful leftovers.

Store: Let the casserole cool before either covering with foil or transferring to an airtight container.

Freeze: This recipe freezes well. Let it cool and then transfer to a freezer safe container. Freeze for up to 3 months.

Reheat: You can reheat this dish in the oven at 350 degrees F in the oven for about 15 minutes or until heated through. It can also be microwaved for 2-3 minute per portion or until heated.

Is marinara sauce the same as pizza sauce?

These sauces are not the same but are very similar. Pizza sauce tends to be a little thicker than marinara sauce. Either can be used for this recipe.

Supreme Pizza Casserole

Ingredients 

  • 1 16 oz box pasta I used Rigatoni
  • 1 cup mini pepperoni
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2.25 oz can sliced black olives
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 lb Italian sausage casings removed
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 24 oz jar marinara sauce

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cook pasta according to directions on box.
  • Cook Italian sausage in a skillet over medium high heat. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Use a wooden spoon to crumble sausage while cooking.
  • Drain excess fat.
  • Drain pasta and add back into pot. Stir in sausage, peppers, onions, olives, pepperoni, seasoning, sauce and 1 cup of cheese. 
  • Place pasta mixture in greased 9×13 casserole dish. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until heated through.

Notes
